Futurama may have ended its television run of new episodes some five years ago with a musical installment in which Fry sold his soul to the Robot Devil, but the adventures of the Planet Express crew didn't end there. The show's final season is followed up by a quartet of direct-to-DVD movies: the first two, Bender's Big Score and The Beast with a Billion Backs, made their debuts last year and earlier this year. Now, Bender's Game, the third of the four films, is new on DVD and (for the first time) Blu-Ray.
In Bender's Game, the good folks of Planet Express plan a risky mission to score a motherload of spaceship fuel in the wake of skyrocketing fuel prices. But the gambit leads them to a medieval planet of dungeons and dragons, and they embark on a fantasy quest of epic proportions. Star Trek's George Takei (Sulu, man!) joins the cast as a guest star.
Bender's Game is loaded with the following bonus features: commentary from cast members Billy West, John DiMaggio, and Tress MacNeille, director Dwayne Carey-Hill, writer Michael Rowe, producer Claudia Katz, developer David X. Cohen, and creator Matt Groening; a storyboard animatic; the interactive Futurama Genetics Lab in which viewers can cross-breed their favorite characters; featurettes on the fantasy element, 3-D models, and "How to Draw Futurama in 83 Easy Steps"; a deleted scene; "blooper" outtakes; an anti-piracy warning from everyone's favorite amoral, alcoholic robot Bender; and a sneak peek at the fourth Futurama movie, Into the Wild Green Yonder.
To commemorate the debut of Bender's Game, we're giving away five copies. To enter our random drawing, simply fill out the form below...
