In case you didn't get the memo, hot chicks with robot parts are that much hotter--it's like a sci-fi fact. It worked for Seven of Nine on Star Trek: Voyager, and it worked for Number Six on the new Battlestar Galactica (please, no discussions about how Cylons are cellularly organic...they're robo-babes for the purposes of this heady discussion).
Bionic Woman, a reincarnation of the classic '70s TV series, carries on in that tradition with Michelle Ryan in the role of Jaime Sommers, a feisty young woman who gets rebuilt with bionic parts after a nearly fatal accident, thereby gaining superhuman skills and one crazy green eye that looks cool on billboards.
The short-lived series is now available on DVD for the first time with Bionic Woman: Volume One, which collects over 5 hours of episodes in one neat little package. Bonus features include audio commentary on the pilot from executive producer David Eick (Battlestar Galactica), features on the stunts, and a short on real life bionics. Battlestar's Katee Sackhoff guest stars on this series as another bionic babe with a score to settle. Katee and Michelle scrap on occasion. It's good stuff.
To commemorate the release of this DVD, we're giving away 10 copies. Just fill out the form below to enter our random drawing...
